Event Types

Event types are the backbone of DonationScout and your fundraiser program. Event types can be anything from a single day event to a repeating weekly event. Events can be unique to a single location or cover multiple locations. All users will have a default event type which offers the same terms for all locations associated with that account. To change any of the terms for your detailed event type, simply click on the Edit button and adjust any of the features you see. Make sure to click Save, before returning to the main page.

Event Type Customization

Every event type can be customized.  A few common examples are listed below.

• Location
• Payout
• Rules/restrictions
• Days of the week
• Time of day
• Date range (e.g., fall semester only)

Unique Event Types

Select Event Types from your toolbar on the home page. In the upper right hand corner select “New Event Type . Simply go through the prompted steps in setting up your unique event. If this will replace your default event type for all of any of your locations, be sure to click on the “ Override Default Event radio button to select Yes.

Private Event Types

For one-off events that you only want to make visible to select organizations, create a private event by first creating a new event type with the custom criteria above, then select the  Private Event Visibility radio button. Only those with the share link for that event will be able to book.  PRO TIP: Partner with another local business like a realtor or insurance agent for a donation "double-down".  Given the mutual customer base, some business owners will gladly match the donation amount in exchange for the opportunity to market on-premise the night of the event.
